I've had Dwight Yoakam's Guitars Cadillacs Etc. Etc. for quite a while. It's only recently become my obsession. The music is timeless. The lyrics are classic. The production is perfect.

Another great project of Yoakam's was the movie Sling Blade. Vic Chesnut is great in this film as well. Vic's album Little might be the greatest Folk LP of all time. I met Vic and Ian MacKaye on the same night at The Bayou, March 14, 1997.

I actually prefer Vic's second album, West of Rome, though I know it's sacrilege to suggest it. But nothing Vic has ever done, in fact, nothing anyone with an acoustic guitar has ever done, can compare to Dylan's first four albums. Not even close. No fucking way. End of story. (Can you tell I'm serious about this?)
