Self Righteous Rasta Wednesdays

Chris Blackwell was born in London on June 22, 1937 to a Catholic father from Ireland and a Jewish mother from Costa Rica. Shortly thereafter, the Blackwells moved to Jamaica where Chris grew up and received his education, formally and otherwise. As a teenager, Blackwell's job was to service and fill rum shack jukeboxes across the island. With each of Chris' trips back to London, that city's Jamaican expatriate community grew larger and along with it grew a larger demand for Jamaican Ska and Reggae 7". Blackwell began exporting records from Jamaica while still in his teens, an enterprise that eventually blossomed into Trojan Records. By twenty-five, Blackwell had grown out of merely exporting records and had established Island Records in Jamaica.
Island's roster has included Toots & The Maytals, The Slits, Anthrax, The Pogues, Led Zeppelin, Tom Waits, Roxy Music, and U2. This greatest of all independent labels introduced the world to the proverbial Bob Marley & The Wailers.

'tis an underestimated catalog.
Nice posts :) BTW.. a small correction.. Led Zeppelin were never on the Island label. They were always on Atlantic, until they formed their own label, Swansong.
